This privacy policy describes how Petchecka (“Petchecka,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information when you visit this website, download or use our mobile applications, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to this policy and to our Terms & conditions.

Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Account and profile information. Information you provide when creating or maintaining an account, such as email address, name or display name, role within a care group (for example pet owner, co-owner, carer, or helper), and authentication identifiers from Apple or Google when you choose social sign-in.
- Pet and care-group data. Pets you add (name, species, optional notes), care groups you create or join, and the relationships between members. This information is used to label tasks and route notifications to the right people.
- Tasks and coordination data. Tasks you schedule (title, notes, time, recurrence, escalation settings), acknowledgements, completion status, help requests, voice messages you choose to attach, and reference photos you upload to a task.
- Care requests and ratings. When you post or accept a care request through our job board, we process the request window, an approximate location for matching, the parties involved, completion status, and the two-way rating each party submits at the end.
- Location information. If you choose to see care requests near you, we ask for device location permission and use a coarse location to match you to nearby open requests. We do not share your address with other users.
- Device and technical data. Device type, operating system version, app version, push-notification tokens, diagnostic logs, crash reports, IP address, and timestamps. We use this information to operate, secure, debug, and improve the Services.
- Communications. Messages you send us (for example support email or contact-form submissions), including metadata such as time sent.
- Payment-related identifiers. Purchases of Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive transaction identifiers and subscription status from those platforms to validate entitlements. We do not receive your full payment card number.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including syncing tasks and pets across devices, delivering push notifications, escalating missed acknowledgements, and matching care requests to nearby carers;
- Authenticate users (email OTP, Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, QR login), prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our terms;
- Communicate with you about the Services, including service-related notices and responses to support requests;
- Validate Premium subscription entitlements with Apple App Store or Google Play;
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests;
- Analyze usage in aggregate or de-identified form to understand product performance.
Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions)
Where required by law, we rely on one or more of the following bases: performance of a contract with you, legitimate interests that are not overridden by your rights (such as securing our Services or preventing abuse), consent where we ask for it (for example camera, microphone, location, or push-notification permissions), and compliance with legal obligations.
Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers who assist us with hosting, storage, email delivery, push delivery (Firebase Cloud Messaging), analytics, crash reporting, customer-support tools, and similar functions, subject to confidentiality and processing terms.
- Other members of your care group. Tasks, voice messages, photos, acknowledgements, and your display name are visible to other members of the same care group as required to deliver the coordination features you initiate.
- Carers who accept your care request (and vice versa). Public profile information, display name, ratings, and the tasks shared in the booking window become visible to the counterparty for the duration of the engagement.
- Platform providers such as Apple and Google for sign-in, in-app purchases, and device notifications.
- Authorities when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the public.
Voice messages and photos
If you record a voice message or attach reference photos to a task, those files are uploaded to Petchecka servers and made available to the linked carer(s) in your care group. Voice clips are limited to 90 seconds and 10 MB; tasks may include up to five reference photos. Removing the file from the task removes it from new downloads; copies cached on a recipient's device may persist until that device clears its cache.
Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account (see below) we remove or anonymise personal information associated with it within a reasonable period.
Security
We implement technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration, including HTTPS for all client-server traffic and short-lived authentication tokens. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we encourage you to use a unique password or social sign-in, keep your device locked, and remove devices you no longer use.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights, contact us at the email above. We may need to verify your request before responding.
Account deletion
You may request deletion of your Petchecka account and the personal information associated with it. Apple App Store and Google Play require apps that support account creation to provide a way for users to initiate account deletion; the following describes how to do that from Petchecka.
From the app (recommended)
- Open Petchecka and sign in.
- Go to Account → Delete account.
- Confirm by typing
DELETEas prompted, then tap Delete permanently. You will be signed out immediately and cannot sign in again with the same email.
If you no longer have the app installed
- Email. Send a message to webcontact@petchecka.com from the email address on your Petchecka account (or include enough detail for us to verify your identity). Use the subject line “Account deletion.”
- Website contact form. From this site, use the contact form on the home page and clearly state that you want your Petchecka account deleted; include the email address registered on your account.
We will verify your request consistent with applicable law and complete deletion or anonymisation of personal information associated with your account within a reasonable period (typically within thirty (30) days), except where we must retain limited information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Care groups and shared content. Deleting your account removes you from every care group you are part of and revokes your access to their pets and tasks. Tasks you authored that are still in flight may be removed or anonymised. Other members’ accounts remain active; data created by them is not affected.
Subscriptions. Premium subscriptions are purchased through Apple or Google. Deleting your Petchecka account does not automatically cancel an active subscription - manage or cancel renewal in your Apple ID or Google Play subscriptions as needed. Cancelling a subscription through the store does not by itself delete your Petchecka account; submit an account-deletion request using the options above if you want your account and associated data removed.
Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate parental consent. If you believe we have collected information from a child inappropriately, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
International users
If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your country of residence.
U.S. state privacy notices
Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws (for example the right to know, delete, or opt out of certain processing). To submit a request, email webcontact@petchecka.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights granted by law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. For material changes we may provide additional notice (such as an in-app notice or email) where appropriate.
